NBA center Hamed Haddadi signed a two-year contract with the Memphis Grizzlies, the team announced this week. The Iranian-born Haddadi, 27, spent the past four seasons in Memphis.
Haddadi is the first Iranian ever to play in the NBA. The 7-2, 265 lbs centre averaged 2.0 points, 2.0 rebounds and a career-high 0.74 blocks in 5.9 minutes in 35 games last season, according to the Grizzlies website.
Haddadi is a native of Ahvaz, Iran.
