In the name of Trump

Civil rights groups are calling on US President-elect Donald Trump to speak out against hate crimes committed in his name.

According to two reports published Tuesday by the Southern Poverty Law Centre, hate crimes surged following Trump’s election win, with 867 reports over the 10 days following voting day.

The centre’s president, Richard Cohen, says teachers are reporting thousands of incidents of bullying by kids who are using Donald Trump’s name “as a weapon.”
