Indian centarian crosses finish line at Vancouver’s Americas Masters Games

A 100-year-old Indian runner is inspiring younger other athletes – and raking in gold medals in the process.

Man Kaur ran her 100-metre race in about one minute and 20 seconds at the Americas Masters Games in Vancouver on Monday, but the spritely centarian never broke her stride.

She lagged behind other runners in their 70s and 80s, but won a gold medal as the only female competitor in her age category.

Five-time Olympian Charmaine Crooks serves as an athlete ambassador for the Masters Games – an international competition for athletes over the age of 30 – and says Kaur’s dynamic spirit has inspired her.
