Obama signs legislature honoring WWII spies, known as OSS

Major League Baseball player Moe Berg of the Boston Red Sox was an OSS agent.

US President Obama has signed legislation that recognizes and honours the Second World War group of spies known as the OSS, an acronym for Office of Strategic Services.

Members of the top secret group have been awarded the Congressional Gold Medal – one of the highest civilian awards in the US.

OSS veterans and supporters have fought for years to get special recognition for the spy agency, which ran intelligence networks and resistance operations behind enemy lines in Europe and Asia.
