Samsung Problems

The problems with Samsung’s explosion-prone Note 7 smartphones ranks among the largest product failures in recent memory.

The company’s stock dropped more than seven per cent in the New York Stock Exchange Tuesday morning.

Samsung is recalling 2.5-million Note 7s and will also hang up on further production of the phone.

Samsung had started shipping new Note 7s following reports that the original ones had batteries that caught fire – but even the replacements were having problems.

Samsung Canada has asked all retail outlets to stop sales and exchanges of the Galaxy Note 7 while the investigation is taking place.

Canadian consumers are being told to power down and stop using the device until they get more information about refunds.
